Hi I’m Meghan and I love to laugh. I love to have fun and include everyone around me, something I use to get in serious trouble for! (think class clown). But now I get to create that atmosphere every day with so many interesting and fun people that I guarantee you’ll be sweatin’ and smilin’ at our place!
I was a college athlete and love all the positive energy being a part of a team brings. But I suffered a bad shoulder injury and for 10 years I lived with daily pain. Every year I tried to jump back into a fitness program but it never lasted. I gained more weight and lost more fitness as I got older, until I just couldn’t live with myself anymore.
I struggled on my journey back to heath as I learned everything I could about functional movement, weight training, and nutrition. I got back my quality of life and it inspired to go into health and fitness full time.
Having been overweight, in pain, and stuck feeling hopeless, I can relate to people who struggle with these issues and help them find manageable ways to begin improving their health. I learned that the way to move through hopelessness is to start with small increments and build from there.
I love teaching. And I’ll find any and all means to make sure my students understand whatever the lesson is. I read from books, quote people, tell stories, swear (it’s a sign of intelligence), and I started the Organic Fitness book club to continue the learning outside the gym.
Because that’s where the real work happens. Not to mention reading- like a firm body- is sexy and powerful!
At any given time you will find me listening to music, studying philosophy, meditation, nutrition, history, the brain, and breathing techniques. I love animals and sometimes I cry at commercials. I will tell it like it is with a smile and always come from a place of love…except sometimes when I’m in traffic but I’m working on that.
I think there’s a spirit in all of us that tells us what we need if we just listen to it. If you’ve been ignoring your inner voice because you don’t know where to start, we provide a safe environment for that voice to be heard. All the noise around you may be telling you it’s hopeless, but it’s not.
We can work together and you will see that your inner voice will move from self-judgment to self-acceptance, and then to self-care.
I’ve learned that I have the power to change and you can as well. We can do it together.
Are you ready?
