If you had to answer that question what would you say?
To lose weight, burn calories, be active because it’s good for your health?
All good reasons to get up and get moving
But what’s the underlying factor in all of this?
Busy work and family life can leave little time for your own development, when’s the last time you invested an hour on working towards your health?
Actually let me put it this way, invested an hour without guilt that you should be doing something else!
Isn’t that weird, that guilty feeling?
Considering everything in our lives and experience starts and ends with us, shouldn’t self improvement be at the top of our list?
It might be at work, being more productive or moving up the hierarchy to make more money and retire sooner
I get that
But if you’re exhausted all the time, feel like blah when you get up in the morning, don’t feel happy and confident in your body
How does that equal doing your best at work?
You know what does equal bringing your best self to every situation?
You guessed it
Being confident, happy and strong
In your body and your mind
That’s what exercise- I mean- Training will do for you
But it has to be strategic!
I know 40 minutes on the elliptical never made me better, it just made me pissed off!
Things like structured resistance training gives you the opportunity to overcome small physical challenges that increase strength- both mental and physical
And if you think learning how to lift weights and be strong in your body won’t carry over into conversations with people and work presentations, think again
Research shows the number one factor that influences our perception of other people’s abilities is their level of confidence
How would your daily life be different if you felt more confident?
At OF our program is designed to improve posture, energy, muscle tone, and create an environment that revolves around individuals, not a class.
When everyone comes in with the focus of improving a little bit each time there’s no competition or feeling self-conscious because everyone is focused on how good they can get! Not on what you’re doing
And it’s freeing
Being yourself at the gym, a place that is known for excluding others and making people feel like crap…. it allows the real you to show up and get moving
That’s why we call ourselves a Lifestyle transformation studio
Because gyms are for egomaniacs and peacocks
Our studio is for anyone who wants to learn how to improve every part of their life.
So what’s the point of exercise?
I hope after reading this you have a different answer.
Yours in Strength,
